My name is Elaine Warwick Simpson and I live in West Yorkshire, where I work as a self-employed travel agent specialising in Australasia and Round the World journeys. The time spent on my art work is the balancing act - complementary to the days spent tied to a computer screen organising complicated journeys for intrepid explorers!
I use a wide variety of methods and materials, with soft pastels generally being favoured for figurative work - portraits and life studies; and acrylic, oil or mixed media for paintings; with a smattering of watercolour throughout.
On this home page you will find recent work and examples of the wide variety of pictures I produce. Maybe one day I'll have a 'style' but for now my inspiration comes from many sources and I love to work with all kinds of materials so there are often 'one-off' paintings that look as if they could have been done by different people!
I hope that you find my work interesting: that you will enjoy looking at it as much as I have enjoyed producing it; and that you may even like some of it enough to buy or commission something. Most things are for sale - anything that isn't will say so in the description - and if there's no price showing it'll just be because I've not got round to it yet, so please just ask - without obligation!
